Our Law Firm

A Work Injury Is Personal. Your Representation
Should Be, Too.

You should be able to ask questions about the work being done for you. We aim to make those conversations useful, understandable, and focused on your circumstances.

Founded by attorney Gil Panzer, Panzer Law serves injured workers throughout Florida and New York. Our approach emphasizes individual attention, communication, and preparation. We want to understand the person behind the claim and the result they are trying to achieve.

The existing diagnosis is only part of that picture. Your job may require lifting, standing, reaching, or helping other people move. Your household may depend on earnings you can no longer bring home. Those details belong in the conversation about your claim.

We prepare with negotiation and contested proceedings in mind, consider the financial consequences of possible resolutions, and explain the choices ahead. A difficult claim calls for attention to its facts—not a one-size-fits-all response.

Panzer Law Agency Founder - Gilbert Panzer (Transparent Background)

Gilbert Russell Panzer, Jr.
Founding Attorney

Gil Panzer

Gil Panzer brings more than 30 years of workers’ compensation litigation experience to the firm. His work includes negotiating with insurance companies, participating in mediation, and taking workers’ compensation cases to trial.

His approach considers the evidence, the benefits at issue, and the financial and practical consequences of a proposed resolution. A settlement decision, for example, deserves a discussion about what the agreement would change—not just the amount offered.

Gil’s commitment to injured workers also appears in his professional recognition. The Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group® Board of Directors first recognized him as a Top Injured Workers’ Attorney on July 22, 2022. According to WILG®, the invitation-only recognition acknowledges leadership, professional reputation, and commitment to representing injured workers.

Richard Zaberto
New York Attorney

Richard Zaberto

Richard Zaberto has represented thousands of injured workers before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. His work focuses on helping New York workers pursue medical care, wage-loss benefits, and other workers’ compensation benefits available under state law.

Richard earned his undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics and Law at Binghamton University and his J.D. at Brooklyn Law School. His background includes litigation work and experience evaluating complex claims, advocating for injured employees, and helping clients understand the Board’s requirements.

His profile also offers a more personal introduction, including his interest in hiking, backpacking, and other outdoor activities in the Catskill Mountains.

Panzer Law’s Approach

How We Approach Your Workers’ Compensation Claim

Every workers’ compensation claim has its own facts, records, and immediate concerns. We take the time to understand what is happening so you can make informed decisions about the next steps.

Medical Care That Has Not Been Arranged

A referral may be sitting unanswered, a treatment request may have been denied, or nobody may have explained who is supposed to schedule the next appointment. Tell us what your medical provider recommended, when the request was made, and what response you received. We can discuss the claim information and whether the dispute is one our firm can address.

Dramatization. Not an Actual Event.

Missing Payments or Income Questions

When a check does not arrive—or seems lower than expected—the immediate problem is often the bills it was supposed to cover. The claim review may involve wage records, missed work, medical restrictions, and the type of benefit being paid. Bring the payment notices and explain what changed.

Dramatization. Not an Actual Event.

An Initial Denial or an Unresolved Benefit

A denial letter should be examined for what it actually says. Is the insurer disputing the work-related injury, a particular treatment, or a period of missed work? Panzer Law can review that explanation and the available evidence, then discuss the appropriate process within the matters we handle. Keep the letter and any related correspondence.

Dramatization. Not an Actual Event.

A Settlement Offer You Need to Understand

An offer may seem like a way to catch up financially. Before deciding, you need to understand the terms, the benefits being resolved, and the amount you would receive after applicable deductions. We discuss the offer in the context of your medical situation and financial needs—not as a number considered on its own.

Dramatization. Not an Actual Event.

Request a Free Consultation

A Free Consultation and Clear Fee Information

Your initial consultation with Panzer Law is free. It is an opportunity to explain your injury, ask about representation, and understand whether the firm can help.

No attorney’s fees unless there is a recovery.

Before you agree to representation, we discuss attorney’s fees, case expenses, and the terms that apply to your matter. Attorney’s fees and expenses are different; you should understand how both are handled when there is a recovery.

Florida Matters

Panzer Law’s stated Florida contingency fee is 25%, subject to the written fee agreement, applicable law, and any required approval. The firm explains how the fee applies to your particular matter before you sign. Review the Florida practice page and discuss how the fee applies to your claim before signing.

New York Matters

New York workers’ compensation legal fees require Workers’ Compensation Board approval and follow the applicable statutory calculations. Approved legal fees are deducted from an award and paid to the attorney by the insurance carrier. See our New York practice page for the separate New York explanation.

The Florida 25% statement does not apply to New York representation.

What To Expect

What to Expect When You
Contact Panzer Law

Start with a brief description of what happened and the question you need answered. Tell us your employer’s name, the state involved, whether you have received treatment, and whether you are working. Mention any denial letter, missing payment, or settlement offer that prompted the call.

STEP 01

You do not need a complete file to request a consultation. Bring or gather what you have, such as a claim number, medical work-status notes, wage records, and insurance correspondence. We can discuss what additional information may be needed.

STEP 02

During the conversation, ask who would handle your matter and how to contact the firm with questions. If you are asking about Gil Panzer or Richard Zaberto specifically, tell us. The firm will explain the appropriate next step and attorney availability.

STEP 03

Calling or sending an inquiry does not automatically establish an attorney-client relationship. Representation begins only when the firm agrees to take the matter and the necessary arrangements are completed.

No. Panzer Law represents injured workers in workers’ compensation matters. It does not defend employers or insurance companies against workers’ claims. The firm’s focus is on the injured employee’s claim, the benefits requested, and the evidence needed to pursue those benefits.

Panzer Law’s Florida locations are Boca Raton, Miami, and West Palm Beach. Its New York locations are Albany, Long Island, Manhattan, and Syracuse. Contact the firm to discuss the appropriate location and appointment arrangements before traveling. A location listing does not establish that a particular attorney is available there without an appointment.

It means discussing your actual job duties, treatment, work restrictions, income concerns, and the specific problem in your claim. The firm reviews the available information and explains the issues and options. A diagnosis or claim number is only a starting point; the details of your work and recovery matter to that discussion.

Yes. Contact the firm about an initial insurer denial, delayed treatment, missing payments, or another unresolved benefit request in a Florida or New York workers’ compensation matter. Keep the notice or correspondence and describe the issue. Panzer Law will determine whether the matter falls within its accepted scope of representation.

Yes. The firm discusses workers’ compensation settlement offers in the context of the claim’s medical and financial circumstances. That includes the proposed terms, the rights being resolved, and the amount the worker would receive after applicable deductions. A consultation is not a promise of a particular settlement or recovery.

Yes. Panzer Law offers a free consultation to discuss your work injury, claim status, and questions about representation. You can call (844) 946-7246 or use the Request a Free Consultation form. Contacting the firm does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.

Panzer Law’s policy is that no attorney’s fees or case costs are owed to the firm unless there is a recovery. When there is a recovery, the fee and expense terms depend on the representation agreement, applicable state law, and required approval. The firm explains those terms before you agree to representation.

No. Panzer Law’s stated Florida contingency fee is 25%, subject to the written agreement, applicable law, and required approval. New York workers’ compensation fees require Workers’ Compensation Board approval and follow the applicable statutory calculations. Do not apply the Florida percentage to a New York claim. Discuss the terms for your matter before signing.

Yes. Tell the firm that you are contacting it through Gil Panzer’s or Richard Zaberto’s profile. Panzer Law will discuss your claim, attorney availability, and who would handle the matter. Asking for a particular attorney does not itself establish representation or guarantee an immediate appointment.

Have your employer’s name, injury date, state involved, and claim number available when possible. Useful records include medical work-status notes, wage information, payment notices, insurance or Board correspondence, and any proposed settlement documents. You do not need every record before contacting the firm; start with the information and questions you have.
